Who is the WordPress.org course for?
Anyone who is interested in how to install WordPress.org to a hosting account, add a theme and plugins, then learn how to use a page builder to create a site like the one you’re looking at with sliders, columns, widgets, icons etc.
Pre-requisites? You need to have access to a laptop for the course and know how to use a computer as a normal user – browsing the internet, checking e-mails and using simple applications such as Word. You would need to have basic knowledge of WordPress, so you know how to create posts, edit pages, use the visual editor and can add images to a post or page. If you are not comfortable with these topics, you might like to have a look at our WordPress Starter Course. Please note, this WordPress.org course is technically more difficult than the WordPress Starter Course, so a basic WordPress knowledge is essential for all participants.
What do others say about our training
“A couple of years ago I was working for an NGO, and part of my role at the time was to maintain the organisation’s online presence using WordPress as their web platform. During that time, I attended a WordPress Course that Julie was running. The course fully met my needs for the role at the time.
Since then, I have wanted to develop an online presence for my photography portfolio. Julie had kindly given me her contact details as most trainers do at the end of their course. I contacted Julie off the bat, thinking I might get an automated response or at most a few tips via email. Julie offered to meet with me and discuss what I was aiming to achieve. As a result of that meeting, Julie went away and set up a template for me to start working off. Julie has been an invaluable support to in helping achieve my online photography portfolio. She is professional to the ninth degree and also has a lovely approachable, friendly and relaxed personality.
I wish Julie the very best and hope to work again with her in the future at some stage.”
Thank you, Joey
“Julie prepared an excellent customised WordPress course for us. She was very generous with her time, meeting us beforehand to look at our existing site and consulting with us to prepare a course which was tailored to our specific needs and requirements. The manuals she produced were also customised for our existing site and are a great guide for all our staff when adding content and updating our site. The training that Julie provided on the day was extremely well structured and easy to follow. The delivery was lively and relaxed, questions were encouraged and all attendees found it an enjoyable and beneficial experience.”

“I attended the WordPress starter and advanced courses over the last few months and I must say they are a must for anyone looking to set up a simple and easy to use website. When our website www.nifast.ie was brought over to WordPress, the hassle and cost that was involved with trying to get the webmaster to change things just didn’t make sense. After the starter course I took full control of everything and was surprised how easy it was. Also I’ve created a brand new site since sitting the courses www.risksafetynet.com, which allows me to control the full functionality of the site appearance and content. WordPress allows you to change content in seconds which is perfect for keeping your site as up-to-date as it can be. Julie was a great instructor and encouraged questions at all stages and also offers her help even after the courses have taken place. I highly recommend WordPress Courses Ireland.”
Thanks again Julie,
